Does anyone know how to put the sound back on to your computer without having to run the disc??

no seriously, find out what kind of soundcard you have, go to their website, look for the specific driver and install it, restart computer, done.

check the device manager to make sure its not disabled

I sent you a PM. You should be able to get into your soundcard info via the device manager.

Windows XP should automaticly have the drivers stored, so I would uninstall the card from the device manager, restart the computer and then XP will find the best drivers for the device and reinstall on startup.
